Your information
A little clarity
about your privacy.
This policy describes how CheckMe handles information when you use the app and this support website. The text checker works without an account. Account sign-in and Facebook scanning are optional.
Your drafts stay on your device.
Text you type or paste into the draft checker is matched against a word list on your device. CheckMe does not upload that text for analysis, save a draft history, or use your draft to train an AI model. Drafts and results remain in memory while you use the app and may be lost when the app closes. You can clear a draft in the app.
When you choose Copy text, CheckMe puts the reviewed text on the device’s clipboard. It marks that copy as local to your device and sets it to expire after two minutes. If you paste the text into another app, that app receives it. When you choose Share, the reviewed text is passed to the destination you select, which handles it under its own practices.
Optional accounts
If you create or sign in to a CheckMe account, our authentication provider, Supabase, processes account information such as your email address, account identifier, sign-in credentials or provider tokens, and session information. Social sign-in providers may also supply profile information associated with your account. We use this information to authenticate you, keep your session working, manage your account, and protect access.
When an account from an earlier version is moved to the current sign-in service, the app’s backend may process the existing account identifier and authentication information to complete that migration. Minimal migration or deletion records may be retained to avoid recreating an account that you have deleted.
Connecting Facebook
When you choose to connect Facebook, Meta processes the connection and permission request. CheckMe receives the access needed to request content Facebook makes available to your account. That content can include post text, dates, author information, and links to posts. Retrieved text is checked on your device. CheckMe does not upload the retrieved posts to a separate analysis service or keep a server-side copy of your scan results.
CheckMe does not post, edit, or delete Facebook content on your behalf. Opening a post takes you to Facebook, where Meta’s terms and privacy policy apply. You can disconnect Facebook in the app and manage or remove CheckMe’s access in Facebook’s app settings.
Providers and technical information
CheckMe uses Supabase for authentication and account services, Apple for Sign in with Apple when you choose it, and Meta’s Facebook SDK and services for Facebook connection and access. These providers process the information necessary to deliver their services. Network requests can expose technical information such as an IP address, device or browser information, account identifiers, and error information to the receiving service.
CheckMe does not display advertising. Facebook automatic app-event logging and advertiser identifier collection are disabled in the app’s configuration. Meta’s SDK includes its own privacy declarations and may process technical, diagnostic, and account information when its services are used. Disabling advertising features does not mean that account and service requests contain no data.
This support website has no sign-in, advertising scripts, or analytics scripts. Its hosting provider processes ordinary web requests and may retain access or security logs. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond and investigate the issue.
Retention and deletion
CheckMe does not save draft histories or keep scan results on its servers. Account information is kept while your account is active so that sign-in and account management can work. Service logs, backups, and minimal records needed to honor deletion or protect the service may remain under the relevant provider’s retention practices.
To initiate permanent deletion of a CheckMe account, sign in and open Settings → Delete Account. The app asks you to confirm. A successful deletion removes your CheckMe account and clears its local session; a failed request shows an error so you can retry. If you used Sign in with Apple, deleting your CheckMe account does not automatically revoke Apple’s authorization. CheckMe does not retain the Apple grant tokens needed for automatic revocation. After deletion, remove CheckMe from Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings. This separate step stops Apple from authorizing CheckMe; your CheckMe account deletion does not depend on completing it. See Apple’s instructions for managing Sign in with Apple.
Deleting CheckMe does not delete your Facebook account or the posts that Facebook stores. Disconnecting Facebook alone does not delete your CheckMe account. If you only use the account-free text checker, there is no CheckMe account to delete.
Your choices
You can use the text checker without signing in, choose whether to connect Facebook, clear drafts, and decide when to copy or share reviewed text. You can use the account controls to update or delete your CheckMe account. Avoid including passwords, access tokens, or private posts in support requests.
