CheckMe

A hand when you need it

Let’s get you
back to your draft.

Help with CheckMe for iPhone and iPad.

Check a draft in three steps.

  1. Open CheckMe and type or paste text into Your draft.
  2. Tap Check my text to look for matches in the built-in English word list.
  3. Review the result. Use Copy text or Share to use the reviewed text elsewhere.

The text checker works offline and does not require a CheckMe or Facebook account. You can check up to 10,000 characters at a time.

Text checking

What does “No flagged words” mean?

It means the text did not match the app’s word list. It does not mean the draft is safe, kind, accurate, or appropriate for every audience. Read it again for tone, context, and personal details. CheckMe does not assess intent, harassment, or platform-policy compliance.

Why did an ordinary word get flagged?

A dictionary cannot interpret intent, quotes, jokes, or every meaning of a word. A match is a prompt to review the wording. You decide whether it needs to change.

Why didn’t CheckMe find a word I expected?

The English word list is not exhaustive. It can miss variations, unfamiliar terms, and wording that needs context. The app does not analyze images, audio, or video.

Where are my saved drafts?

CheckMe does not save draft history. A draft stays in memory while you use the app and can be lost when the app closes. If you want to keep reviewed text, copy or share it to a destination you trust before leaving.

Why did copied text disappear?

CheckMe’s Copy text action puts the reviewed text on this device’s clipboard for two minutes. Copy it again if that time has passed. Choosing Share lets you send it directly to an app or destination instead.

The check button is disabled or the word list cannot load.

Add some text other than spaces to enable Check my text. If the app reports that the word list could not load, close and reopen CheckMe, then try again. Confirm you have the latest available version if the problem continues.

Accounts and Facebook

Do I need to connect a social account?

No. Draft checking and the writing guide work without an account. Open the Facebook tab only if you want to use the optional Facebook connection.

I signed in, but Facebook is not connected.

Signing in to a CheckMe account and connecting Facebook are separate steps. After signing in, use the Facebook connection control and complete Facebook’s permission request. Sign in with Apple or email can be used for the CheckMe account; a Facebook account is still needed to access Facebook posts.

A Facebook scan is empty or cannot access my posts.

CheckMe can review only what Facebook makes available to the app for your account and permissions. Some content may not be available. Check your internet connection and Facebook connection status, then reconnect if the app asks you to. An empty result is not proof that your whole Facebook history was checked.

Can CheckMe change or delete my Facebook posts?

No. You can open a flagged post on Facebook and decide what to do there. CheckMe does not publish, edit, or delete social posts for you.

I cannot sign in to an existing account.

Use the same email address or sign-in provider you used for that account. For an email/password account, use Forgot Password on the sign-in screen and check your inbox and spam folder. A password reset may not apply to an account created only through a social sign-in provider.

How do I disconnect Facebook?

While signed in, open Settings and use the Facebook connection control to disconnect. You can also manage or remove CheckMe’s permissions in Facebook’s app settings. Disconnecting Facebook does not delete your CheckMe account.

How do I delete my CheckMe account?

Sign in, open Settings, choose Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your CheckMe account when the request succeeds. If you see an error, the deletion has not been confirmed; check your connection and try again. Deleting CheckMe does not delete your Facebook account or Facebook posts. There is no account to delete if you use only the account-free text checker.

If you signed in with Apple, also remove CheckMe from Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings. This is a separate step from deleting the CheckMe account. CheckMe does not retain the Apple grant tokens needed to revoke that authorization automatically. See Apple’s instructions for managing Sign in with Apple.

Before reporting a problem

Make a note of your iPhone or iPad model, iOS or iPadOS version, CheckMe version, what you expected, and the steps that led to the issue. A screenshot can help, but remove private text and account details first. Never send your password or a sign-in code.
